Elliott one year old layout

Here is my layout for today.  I really liked how this one turned out.  I love mixing different patterned paper together!!!   I even made my own file folder.  I used a sketch from The Memory Nest

Bree layout

I put this layout together this morning, it actually came together rather quickly.  This is my niece Bree's kindergarten picture.  I like how the layout came out, especially since I was able to use some scraps of patterned paper and embellishments that were sitting on my scrap table left over from another layout (magic mesh, pearls, and a button).   I used a sketch from My Scraps & More Sketches

Here's the sketch

Mason birth layout

Here is the layout I finished up this morning.  It is of my nephew's birth, who was born 8 weeks early.  He was soooo tiny!!!

I used a sketch for the layout.  The sketch is only a one page layout, and I used the sketch as inspiration and produced a two page layout.  The sketch is from ScrapMuch?

Here's the sketch

Army layout

A very simple and quick layout for today. Sorry that there is a bit of glare on a couple of the circle chipboards at the bottom.   I used a sketch from Inspired Blueprints

Swimming layout

I completed this layout this morning using a color challenge at ScrapMuch?.  I tried to use only the colors in the challenge, but other colors kept popping up in my layout.  Oh well, at least the page is done and I really like how it turned out (and I didn't use a sketch).

Here is the color challenge

Parade layout

I finished this layout today.  I used a sketch as inspiration and really liked the strips of paper behind the photos, so went with that and used it on a 8.5x11 page instead of a 12x12.  I really like how it turned out.  Very simple.  The sketch is from Creative Scrappers for the May sketch challenge.

Strawberries & Cream Bread

The WalMart here in town had a 2 pound container of fresh strawberries for $1 and I couldn't pass up a great deal.  So, I bought two containers, got home and didn't know what I was going to do with 4 pounds of strawberries.

I searched the internet for recipes and found this one for bread and it turned out really good!!!  Hope you enjoy it as well.

Strawberries & Cream Bread

1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups strawberries, fresh & coarsely chopped (do not use frozen)
3/4 cup walnuts (optional)

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; set aside.  In small bowl, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beat 1 minute or until light and airy. Add brown sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in sour cream and vanilla.  Stir into flour mixture only until dry ingredients are moistened.  Fold in strawberries and nuts.  Pour into a greased 8 x 4 inch loaf pan.  Bake at 350°F for 60 to 65 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.  Let stand 10 minutes in pan.  Turn out on rack to cool.
